This is the quote from my super-cool The Office page-a-day calendar:
what is now my new favorite quote:
"No one asked you anything ever. So 'whomever's' name is Toby, why don't you take a letter opener and stick it in your skull?"
OMG, I love this show!
So, I'm watching a little bit of Lou Dobbs (whom I usually don't watch because I usually just don't like listening to him and have some problems with his hair), and they have been talking for the last 10 minutes about immigration issues in Scranton, PA. I wonder if Dunder Miflin has immigrant employee issues...
How fun to see this little slice of heaven (because its the home of our favorite branch of Dunder Miflin paper company) in real news. I bet Dwight will be ALL OVER THIS!
We've recently subscribed to Netflix, and last week we received Series 1 and Season 1 of The Office from BBC and NBC, respectively. So, Friday night was my guilty pleasure night. I watched them both and almost got all the way through the deleted scenes from the NBC version in one night. This morning, when I finished breakfast, I watched all the episodes that had commentary on the NBC DVD, so I basically re-watched the pilot twice and then 3 more episodes with comments by the actors and writers, something that usually bores me to tears. I couldn't get enough, though. Its crazy!
So tonight, I sit here getting ready for "work" tomorrow, looking back on this rare, unscheduled day off. Its just me and my macbook, our nabaztag talking rabbit, Prairie Home Companion in the background, and whatever I scrounge up for supper since my cook is feeling a little "under the weather" tonight.
What does "under the weather" really mean, anyway?
I sure wish there was more Office to watch.
Best line from last night's episode of "The Office":
"I say, 'Let them eat cake.' Margaret Thatcher said that...about marriage. Smart broad."
--Michael Scott, a.k.a Steve Carell
Ok, so I have officially diagnosed myself with an obsession, and it is NBC's "The Office". It's not just JAM (Jim and Pam); it's Dwight and Angela, Ryan and Kelly, Phyllis and Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration, either being embarrassed for or laughing hysterically at Michael Scott. And the pranks...oh, the pranks. If you count the time I TiVo'd through the episode to get the quotes included in this post, I have watched this last masterpiece 3.5 times since last night. It's just sad now. This afternoon I spent longer than I'd like to admit looking at YouTube clips of the BBC version, and now I'm wanting to see it, too!
Second best line from last night's epsiode of "The Office":
"Do you, Phyllis, take Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
--Minister at Phyllis's wedding
Worst line:
"You wanna get outta here?"
Roy
Boo! Boo! Boo! Don't do it, Pam!
Watch out CBS's "The Class." You're next.
